    KITA held ‘Korea-Shandong Economic and Commercial Cooperation Exchange Meeting’

    - Discussed cooperation measures for service trade provided an opportunity to exchange among business people -

     

     

    The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman, Kim Young-joo) held ‘The Korea-Shandong Economic and Commercial Cooperation Exchange Meeting’ in cooperation with the Ministry of Technology, Industry, and Energy and the Shandong government at Grand Intercontinental Hotel in Samseong-dong on March 4, Wednesday.

     

    During the forum, the both parties introduced the Yontai·Weihai Industrial Parks in China, Saemangeum Industrial Complex in Korea, Incheon Korea-China regional economic cooperation development demonstration zone to each other and sought cooperation measures for local economies between the countries. In particular, about 170 people from Shandong provinces and the government, including Chinese government officials, had networking and exchange dinner parties through pre-matching service with about 100 Korean businessmen.

      

    High level officials from Shandong Publishing Group Limited, Korea Small & Medium Publishers Associations, HIKING GROUP, Yonsei University Health System, Shandong Satellite TV, CJ headquarters in China, Shandong Man Boy Tong Animation Production Company and Dongwoo A&E Co., Ltd. shared their opinions regarding the Korea-China free trade agreement for service trade, including publishing, medical, entertainment, digital animation, etc.

     

     

    Han jin-hyun, the vice-chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, the host of this forum, said, "It is very timely to hold an exchange meeting at this point, as the follow-up negotiations for Korea-China FTA service investment are in full swing. I hope this exchange meeting will be an opportunity to establish a more active business relationship with Shandong, which is geographically the closest and the most number of Korean companies have businesses in.”

     

    ‘The Korea-Shandong Economic and Commercial Cooperation Exchange Meeting’ is jointly organized by the Korea International Trade Association and the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province and ho-hosted by the Ministry of Technology, Industry, and Energy and the People's Government of Shandong Province.  The event takes place every year in Seoul and Shandong Province in turn since the signing of the MOU between the Ministry of Technology, Industry, and Energy and Shandong Province in 2015.
