    KITA-Gangnam-gu Signed MOU to Foster Global Statups


    - KITA and MYSC carried out one-on-one consultations between startups and large companies at ‘'360° Seoul’ event -


    The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman, Kim Young-joo) signed a‘Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster startups and support startups’ overseas expansion’ with Gangnam-gu at COEX in Samseong-dong on May 2nd.


    In the signing ceremony was attended by some 30 participants, including Chairman Kim Young-joo of the Korea International Trade Association, Chief Jung Soon-kyun of Gangnam-gu Office and the committee members of MICE Cluster.


    Through the business agreement, the two organizations agreed to actively cooperate to support startups’ exports, share database (DB) provide convenience facilities for startups and to establish overseas network cooperation channels and operate them all year around. They plan to jointly support startups’ online and offline overseas expansion, find and solve startups’ difficulties, and carry out joint events such presentation sessions to attract investment.


    On the other hand, the Korea International Trade Association held an exhibition consultation meetings at '360° Seoul (COEX C-Festival) in cooperation with MY Social Company (MYSC) for eight social venture startups such as Wehuddling and MONTSENU that are working on to resolve social problems. They introduced their business models to the general public and investors, and also carried out one-on-one consultations with Korean conglomerates who visited the booths. 


    Lee Dong-ki, the director of Innovative Growth Center at the Korea International Trade Association, said, We will make efforts to boost startups and their global expansion. He added, We will also support scale-up of startups and level-up of large corporations through open innovation, even in the area of social value.
