    KITA Holds Korea-Japan New Industry Trade Conference in Tokyo Plans for the next 50 years 


    -      Various discussions on expansion of bilateral economic cooperation, promotion of talents and cultural exchanges, etc.  -



    The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman, Kim Young-joo) held ‘The 19th Korea-Japan New Industry Trade Conference' on March 29, in cooperation with the Korea-Japan Economic Association and the Japan-Korea Economic Association, at the Okura Hotel in Tokyo with 90 business people from the both countries.


    This conference took place in advance of the Korea-Japan Business Conference to be held in May. The participants agreed to build the future-oriented Korea-Japan relations under the slogan of ‘to celebrate the 50th Korea-Japan Business Conference together and create the next 50 years through economic, talent and cultural exchanges’.


    The Korean side proposed the expansion measures for the Korea-Japan economic cooperation through the investment case of Toray Advanced Materials and ‘The Korea-Japan dream of 21st Century’, which includes energy, environment, aging and the cooperation for the 4th Industrial Revolution. The Japanese side suggested expanding the economic tie-up with third countries, Korean young people’s internship for Japan-based businesses, and cooperation for Tokyo Olympic Games and Korea-Japan Festival as the fields for the bilateral cooperation.


    Chairman of Korean side Ahn Jong-won said, We intensively discussed about the Korea-Japan economic cooperation measures for the next 50 years for the next generation. The proposed measures are expected to be placed as agenda at the 50th annual meeting of the Korea-Japan Business Conference to be held in Japan from May 15 to 16 and will be adopted as a joint statement."


    The New Industry Trade Conference is a specialized committee under the Korea-Japan Business Conference held in May every year. During the meeting, a variety of issues of both countries are discussed.
