KITA to Hold Conference to Check Issues of Inter-Korean Summit on
Asia’ in cooperation with CSIS … will discuss overland connection in Northeast
The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman, Kim
Young-joo) said that it would hold '2018 KITA-CSIS Reconnecting Asia
Conference', in partnership with the Center for Strategic and International
Studies (CSIS) of the United States, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun
on September 18 in line with the opening date of the third inter-Korean
The conference will be attended by
key figures, including John Hamre President & CEO of CSIS, Victor Cha,
Korea Chair at CSIS, and Yoon Young-kwan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of
Korea. The participants will investigate major issues of the third inter-Korean
summit and the diplomatic relations among South Korea, North Korea and the
United states and carry out in-depth discussion on the future of the inter-Korean
Particularly in the afternoon session, they will analyze the
geopolitical situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula and discuss the
denuclearization of North Korea, economic cooperation in the region and
multilateral diplomacy on the occasion of the inter-Korean summit meeting.
They will also discuss the
outlook of overland connection in Northeast Asia, including the North-South
railroads, and future strategies for each Asian country.
