The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman, Kim
Young-joo) said that they recorded 4247 consultation results at the ‘China International Import Expo", in which the organization
participated with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and 186 companies
for six days from November 5th.
According to the Korea International Trade Association, as
the highest ranking officials of China, including Xi Jinping participated in
the event, there were many inconveniences such as excessive security screening
and complicated participation procedures. However, with the participation of
the large companies from each province of China, Korean participants achieved significant

the China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec). Another Korean
company B ran a facial mask booth with the existing Chinese agent and signed a
memorandum of understanding worth 10 million U.S. dollars.
The promotional effect was also sizable. A Korean company

buyers but also had an interview with the ‘Chinese Economic
Network’, one of the three major media in China, and
had an opportunity to advertise their products all over China. Company ran out
of the samples of augmented reality (AR) for children's education booklet that
they brought to the exhibition in two days and realized China's active spending
patterns and huge purchasing power.
Cho Hak-hee, the head of International Affairs Group of the
Korea International Trade Association, said, " We
expect to see further upgraded event next year as the Chinese government
is showing a strong commitment to foster the Import Expo as a national event.” He also added, “71.5 percent of the exports
who participated in this year’s event said, ‘we would participate in next year as well’.
Therefore, we will continue to support them so that their consultations will be
led to actual contracts.”
