KITA Held ‘China International Import Expo, Seoul Seminar'
- Assessed China International Import Expo in Shanghai,
introduced the latest trends regarding obtaining sanitation permits in China -
The Korea International Trade
Association (Chairman, Kim Young-joo) held ‘China International Import Expo, Seoul Seminar' at COEX in Samseong-dong on December 4, in cooperation with the
China Economic Net, a news website in China.
The seminar was held to share the
performance of the ‘China International Import Expo’ took place in Shanghai, China last month and to promote the
exchange between Chinese companies and Korean companies.
In the first session, Liang Ming,
director of the foreign trade research center at the Chinese Academy of
International Trade and Economic Cooperation, affiliated with the Ministry of
Commerce, said, “A number of companies participated in the China
International Import Expo have
achieved the desired results by on-site sample transactions and signing
contracts or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).” He
also added, “According to the survey, 71 percent of the
respondents said that they would participate in the fair again next year.”
In the second session, the specialists
delivered presentations on the main contents of China’s New e-Commerce Law which will be enacted next year and the
countermeasures and know-how to obtain cosmetics and food sanitation permits.
In particular, they introduced mobile live broadcasting and three-dimensional
(3D) panorama news utilizing Virtual Reality (VR) technology on China Economic
Net and attracted participants' attention by broadcasting the interviews with
Korean small and medium-sized companies in real time.
Cho Hak-hee, head of the
International Affairs Group at the Korea International Trade Association, said,
“China is moving away from its position as the export production base
of the past and now is the partner to actively cooperate with in future
industries such as the 4th Industrial Revolution.” He
stressed, “Korea needs to pay attention to the changes
in China's huge consumption market which is growing rapidly.”
