    KITA Held Domestic Company-Foreign Company in Korea Business Matching Conference’


    - 56 domestic companies and 15 companies run by foreigners participated K-Wave related products were popular -

     


    The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman: Kim Young-ju) and the Seoul Business Agency co-hosted ‘Domestic Company-Foreign Company in Korea Business Matching Conference’ at COEX in Samseong-dong on October 15th.


     

    The conference will provide domestic companies with opportunities to develop export channels and support the startups established by foreigners residing in Korea to find customers.   


     

    At the event, more than 130 consultations were carried out, with 56 promising small and medium-sized enterprises participating in the Korea International Trade Associations’ ‘Making Local Enterprises to Exporters’ project and 15 companies run by foreigners from France, Canada, Russia, and China who are supported by SBA.


     

    The companies run by foreigners showed interest in cosmetics, food, and medical devices, which are in high demand in overseas markets due to the spread of the Korean Wave. Domestic companies also continued their consultations in anticipation of expanding distribution channels not only to China but also to various regions including Europe and North America.


     

    A CEO of a Korean company who participated in the conference said, “The supporting organizations provided matching service by thoroughly understanding the information and specifications of the products of the participating companies and it enabled us to have substantial consultations, and added, I hope that the event, which is held once a year, will be held more frequently, so that the companies focusing on the domestic market will have more opportunities to challenge overseas expansion.


     

    Heo Duck-jin, head of the Membership Affairs Group at the Korea International Trade Association, said, In order to develop new markets and expand exports in a difficult export environment, it is crucial to help domestic firms’ exports. He also mentioned, We will increase the size and number of events so that many companies from various fields can participate in the future.”
