Held 2nd Meet-up Between Thai State-Owned Petrochemical Enterprise and Startups

The
second meet-up was held online with 10 Korean startups in eco-friendly
packaging and water quality sensors, etc. -
The Korea International
Trade Association (Chairman: Kim Young-ju) held the second meet-up between Thai
State-Owned Petrochemical Enterprise PTTGC and Korean startups at the COEX
Startup Branch on October 29th.
PTTGC is Thailand’s largest
petrochemical enterprise whose annual output reaches 11,250,000 tons. The
company already had online meet-ups with 11 Korean startups of KITA’s recommendation
in April this year. PTTGC signed a confidentiality agreement with one of the
startups that participated in the event at that time. Based on the achievement,
the company valued highly of Korean startups’ technologies and potential to
expand. This event was organized as PTTGC had suggested the second round of
meet-up.
Nine startups in the field
of eco-friendly packaging and water quality sensors participated in the online
meeting.
CEO Cha Wan-young of Marine Innovation who participated in the event said, “As
Thailand establishes and implements a plastic waste management roadmap at the
government level, the eco-friendly packaging market is gradually expanding,”
and added, “I hope that this meet-up will provide a bridgehead for us to expand
into the Southeast Asian market.”
Cho Sang-hyun, chief of
Global Startup Center at the Korea International Trade Association, said, “The
startup that have signed a confidentiality agreement with PTTGC is currently
conducting joint research and development related to polymer technology,” and
also mentioned, “We will actively support this meet-up as well to achieve good
collaboration results.”
