Korea International Trade Association (Chairman: Christopher Koo) hosted
‘Startup Branch B-day’ on June 4th at COEX in Samsung-dong to
celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Startup Branch.
Startup Branch is a free startup-only shared space which KITA opened on June 4th,
2019 at COEX in Seoul to support global scale-up of domestic startups. It also
serves them with opportunities to have open innovation with large and medium domestic enterprises and to network between participants
in the startup ecosystem.
The participants of the event included Lee Dong-gi of
KITA Innovation and Startup Group, CEO Im Jung-wook of TBT Partners, Director
Kim Young-deok of D-Camp, Director Noh Seung-gyu of Startup Promotion Team at Hyundai
Motors Group, and CEO Ryu Jung-hee of Future Play, and they spent time
discussing main issues and current problems with the global and Korean startup
ecology, Korean startups’ performance in the global stage, promotion strategies
and implications of open innovation, and their roles in vitalization of the
