The
Korea International Trade Association (Chairman: Christopher Koo) dispatched an
“Outreach delegation on key U.S. industries” to Washington D.C. with an aim to
strengthen cooperation with the U.S. in the field of trade. The delegation was
dispatched on April 24th and completed their three-day visit on the
26th (local time). The
delegation was led by Gwan-seop Lee, the Vice President of KITA, and members of
the delegation had opportunities to meet key figures in the U.S.
administration, the U.S. Congress and the economic circle, including Sarah
Bianchi, the Deputy United States Trade Representative (USTR), Todd Young a
member of the U.S. Senate, Jimmy Gomez, a member of the U.S. House of
Representatives and John Murphy, the Vice Chairman of the U.S. Chamber of
Commerce. The members of the delegation and these figures had opportunities to
discuss on the issue of engaging in stronger cooperation to strengthen supply
chain resilience in the semiconductor, battery, steel industry sectors.
