KITA Chairman Jin-Sik Yoon visited Ideuntech - an automobile parts producing company in Busan - and hosted a meeting with automobile parts sector representatives in the Busan area on Wednesday, 28 May.

This meeting was organised as a follow-up measure after KITA's outreach activities in the U.S. in March and May this year and listen to the voices of representatives from the automobile sector, which are directly affected by tariff policies by the U.S. The meeting was attended by representatives from five automobile parts companies in the Busan area. They raised concern over the U.S. imposing a 25% tariff against imported automobile parts and discussed possible avenues for responding to this measure.

Chairman Yoon mentioned, "I took the opportunity to visit the U.S. recently as a chance to have meetings with governors, Senetors, members of the House of Representatives and high-ranking Department of Commerce officials from states, where Korean companies are making investments and highlighted robust Korean investments and exports are contributing to advancing cutting-edge industries and creating jobs in the U.S.". He added, "I remain firmly committed to having the U.S. be aware of how much our trading companies are affected by tariff measures by closely listening to the voices of our trading companies".
